Pause with Purpose
The Real Pause is a nonprofit organization registered as a 501(c)(3) in the United States and 1101.01 in Puerto Rico. Our mission is to share the love and hope of Jesus by creating spaces where people can pause and serve others in unity across Puerto Rico.
Here is how The Real Pause has begun to make an impact over the past few years.
The Ezer Program was born from a simple but powerful calling: to be present and bring help where it is needed most.
The word Ezer comes from Hebrew and means “help” or “helper.” It is the same word the Bible uses to describe God as our helper in times of need. Just as God meets people in their suffering, Ezer exists as an extension of that love in action—a ministry rooted in presence, compassion, and intentional care.
The purpose of the Ezer Program is to serve communities in vulnerable situations by offering genuine love, and support. Through care grounded in dignity and respect, Ezer creates spaces where people feel seen, valued, and supported. Our goal is to foster lasting impact by strengthening emotional well-being and bringing hope where it is needed most.
Our vision is to continue expanding the Ezer Program through consistent monthly service and by developing new opportunities that respond to the emotional and social needs of the community.
STAR is a space created for people to connect. We believe many people are looking for fun and meaningful activities where they can talk, pause, and grow together in community. STAR provides an environment where individuals can get to know one another and build genuine connections. Sometimes, all that is missing is a comfortable and welcoming space where people can open up, feel at ease, and enjoy time together.
Our goal with STAR is not only to host events that help raise funds for the Ezer Program, but also to ensure that every person understands their donation is part of something bigger—planting hope, bringing comfort, and making a meaningful difference in someone else’s life, whether at the hospital, with older adults, or wherever Ezer serves in the future.
Pause Nights are designed to help people pause and encounter Jesus. We gather in worship, receive the Word, pray together, and grow in community—creating a space to rest, reflect, and reconnect with God.
